1. Have a solid lesson on sharing! Sharing is an incredibly subtle concept, so to keep things simple I appealed to the inherent selfishness of most young kids—how is sharing is beneficial to you?
2. Have high-contrast illustrations and simple art that's easy to visually consume.
3. Make a book that a pre-reading kiddo could pick up and still follow. Toddlers are still figuring out facial expressions and how we use them to communicate, so I zoomed in on the main characters' faces and let them tell a story—with or without words.
